AC Install Cost is a free resource that helps U.S. homeowners understand what heating and cooling work should cost — and what size equipment their home actually needs — before they ever speak to a contractor. We built it because the hardest part of any HVAC project is walking in without a number, which makes it easy to overpay and hard to compare bids.

What you’ll find here

We publish a full set of calculators covering the decisions homeowners face: how much an AC or heat pump replacement should cost in your state, what size system your home needs, whether a higher-efficiency unit pays back, how a heat pump compares to a gas furnace, and what monthly financing might look like. Each tool gives a clear, defensible range or figure with the assumptions shown, plus 2026 pricing broken out for all 50 states.
